Seniors A GOGO was a 3 year project, funded by Calgary Learn & New Horizons for Seniors.
The play was a series of monologues exploring sexuality in older adults as a response to the information that the rates of HIV and AIDS had more than doubled in Older Adults in the last 10 years and no one was talking about it.
Although the play was originally conceived to talk about safe sex, it quickly became clear that the team of SAG, The Foundation Lab and Calgary Sexual Health had a bigger job on their hands as the conversation was seemingly forbidden by all the generations involved.
SAG and The Foundation Lab created a beautiful, fun and funny romp through the issues around aging and sexuality.
In the end the message was received loud and clear - denying someone their sexuality is denying someone their essential humanity.
Calgary Sexual Health continues to advocate with their educational work around this issue. For more information please contact Calgary Sexual Health.
